the bullshit Sri Lankan patriotism spoon fed to the modayas of our times.. You, Orion, and I, can all march on to a time of state terrorism now.(30s exposure up at my neighbourhood sky while pondering about our times)
unfair statement.... doesn't do Justice to those who laid their lives for the country, this has the potential to be a long and painful debate but... i also agree with you in that the Gov is doing its part to stir emotions, the economy is in a mess, but do you really think that we as Sri Lankans (Gov & the LTTE) were capable of anything other than a military solution?
I wasn't saying I was against the military solution. It is the fake patriotism haahooed around to the common man to gain a political chess-mate situation I am talking about. You think it's fair the government is using the lives of soldiers to fill up their own pockets while fucking up the country? Foreseeable future might free us from the tiger terrorism, but bring on another one.
all i know is that some good news is always welcome! i know that for once... i'm proud to be a Sri Lankan, for once we have been successful at something, for once there's hope of a future, for once i do not mind hanging around to see if things lighten up, for once there is optimism in air with the majority, for once there is hope that we might be able to rid ourselves of this problem and move towards economic properity with the hope of FDI's flowing in with the war ending, however these couple of days have depressed me a great deal with the Sirasa and LW incidents, it has tarnished my optimism.... that is dissapointing coz we need to be positive as a country, we really need to....
Temporary good news can lull us into a sense of complacency. It gives us something to feel happy about.
Tell me when are you planning a restful holiday in Batticaloa? Weather is super in the April season. Hotels are cheap too since the NGO's were kicked out.
